The Gregory River Canoe Marathon is one of Queensland's most iconic, scenic and adventurous paddling events, but it's more than just a race it's a full Gregory weekend experience.
Paddlers arrive to kick things off with the much-loved "Dinner in the River" on Friday night. Sharing roast meats, veges and followed by dessert - all you need to bring is your chair and your appetite. Saturday sees the Gregory Jockey Club Paddles and Saddles Race Meet, where locals and visitors come together for country horse racing, fashions of the field, good music and a proper outback celebration allowing you to party well into the night and Sunday is the main event - paddling the Gregory's crystal clear, spring fed waters navigating long waterholes and enjoying a couple of fun rapids along the way.
Whether you're racing for the podium or simply paddling for the experience, the Gregory long weekend delivers unforgettable memories combining adventure, challenge, spectacular outback scenery and true country hospitality.
